There are those in our religious world who think it is a sin to eat in the same building, or place, where we worship God.

Jesus didn’t feel this way! Have you not read Matthew, 14th chapter where Jesus not only healed their sick but fed 5000 men besides the women and children using five loaves and two fishes and the fragments that were gathered were 12 baskets?

In Mark, the 8th chapter, we can read how the multitude was very great that came out to hear Jesus teach and to be healed. They had nothing to eat and had been with Jesus three days. Jesus took seven loaves and a few fishes and blessed it, feeding 4000 and gathering up seven baskets left over.

These buildings where we come together to worship God are only buildings. There isn’t anything holy or godly about these buildings. When the world is on FIRE at the last day, these buildings with their gold crosses and stained crystal windows, etc. will be burned up. That’s right! All burned up. The church are the born again of God. Don’t place any special respect to any building, as it is more spiritual than your home or the park, etc.

Jesus did a great deal of His teaching outdoors and fed the hungry right where He was teaching.

When we come together to worship Him in spirit and truth, worship Him as He instructed in His word.

When take the Lord’s Supper upon the first day of the week, Acts 20:7, we are instructed to use unleavened bread and the fruit of the vine (cup), Matthew 26:26. We would be in error of God’s word if we used cookies, nabs, corn bread, cake instead of unleavened bread or we used bananas, apples, peaches, strawberries, melon instead of the cup fruit of the vine. We would also be wrong to try making the Lord’s Supper a common meal. This was what was happening to those in Corinth. 1 Corinthians 11:20-29. Paul, the apostle, instructs the church at Corinth that they were taking the Lord’s Supper wrong and explained to his brethren what the Lord’s Supper consists of and not a common meal for the Lord’s Supper.

The disciples met daily house to house and worshiped God wherever they could come together.

We as Christians today got to the homes of the sick and elderly and worship God with them and I haven’t known of a single case where they were refused worship because there happened to be a kitchen nor have I heard of anyone being asked to remove their kitchen before church started.

When Jesus comes again He will be coming after the church (called out people). He will not be coming for the church building.

We must be real careful not to make that church building an IDOL. The raggiest man in the world is worth more than all our church buildings. You see he is made in the image of God.

Let us be careful not to gag at a gnat and swallow a camel. (Matthew 23:24)

Let us remember to pray as Christ and the apostles prayed. Pray for all the sinners everywhere that they will repent and obey the gospel while there is still time.
